Biography:
Label produced by members of the Placebo Collective in Arcata and Eureka, CA. With about 15 releases to date, the label is young, but has released some of the best music north of San Francisco. Some of the most prominent releases have been by Winston Smith, a political hardcore band formed in 2001, with three releases on South G, including 2004's BURN THIS CD and 2005's the culmination of the evolution of destruction.... Another groundbreaking South G band is The Routine. With their prominent 2002 release, Obedience Training, the trio proved to be a catalyst to some of the brightest bands in Humboldt County today, including The Dean, Daytime Minutes and Thee Eureka Garbage Company. Check out Do Not Resuscitate, an upcoming hardcore band formed this year, already releasing a savage 5-song demo ep. After accompanying Winston Smith on the Oregon leg of their West Coast Tour this past summer, DNR is busy writing new songs and playing any show they can get their hands on, sharing stages with metal and indie-rock Humboldt main-stays as well as some of the best traveling acts coming through. They will be releasing a full-length in early 2006.
