I hate politcal correctness.

I hate that kids can't be shown being killed in American movies.

I hate the fact that EVERYTHING explodes in movies. Cars don't just explode like that. It's called science.

- The fact that instead of making "teen movies" recently, now all they're doing is pumping out awful horror movies left and right.

- How singers are trying to act, and vice versa. Seems like every other movie you see these days is starring some shitty popular female singer, or a rapper.

- How it seems like production companies are willing to greenlight almost any project these days that has a remote chance at making a bit of money. Also noticing how there is an increasing number of movies that aren't being screened to critics becaue even the studio knows how bad it is.

- No one seems to have any original ideas these days. If it's not some shitty remake, then it's an adaptation from an old tv show. If it's not a completely unneccesary sequel, then it's a movie based on a video game. Maybe the boxoffice revenues are down so much in recent years because the vast majority of films being released are movies that no one cares to see. What a thought that is.

i agree about all the remakes. enough already.

but it's an easy thing for studios to do to make some easy bucks because what it boils down to is name recognition. the public already knows what king kong is, so it's that much easier to sell it to them in the form of a remake.

they are still plenty of good independent movies coming out (although lots of the big studios have been snatching those up and releasing them in the form of their "independent" versions, which is all a bit disheartening) so i try to stick with those as much as possible.

Pretty much every single time I've asked someone if they've seen the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, they'll say "I've only seen the new one". Or, they'll say "the original sucked, it was so cheesy, new one is way better".

haha and you just did more bitching about other peoples bitching than they bitched about in the first place.

I have Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween posters above my head when I sleep every night. It's very comforting.

if an original movie could use an update or better production i can see a remake being justified. something that will hold the test of time should not be remade.

2 things that are bothering me with horror flicks is that ever since Scream was made alot of horror flicks are shot similar to that. its hard to explain but you know what im talking about. the second is remaking japanese movies. not for the idiot reason that they'll ruin it with american actors or whatnot (the grudge and the ring were fine with american actors) but the fact that most of the japanese horror flicks that are being remade were originally made post year 2000. Why not just release the original in the states? it will still be covering current events...if the jap movie was made in say 1970...then i can understand and updated american remake.

exactly...most people nailed it already. to many sequels, to many remakes, to many shitty teeny bopper horror movies. movies have sucked for the last couple of years for the most part. i used to go almost every weekend...now i'm lucky if there is 1 movie every 6 months worth spending the $30 to go see anymore
