taxes, aren't my own money being used how I want it to be used (currently, yes for the most part)....taxing more doesn't help. I'm all for the bare necessities, roads, bridges, jails and police officers, paying gov. workers ,etc. I'm not for the government doing what we're all supposed to do anyhow like helping the homeless and get heathcare....things of that nature. A step in that way and we're one step in the direction of communism.
I guess we lose the power of our own money to change what we think is best to change. Money tends to be "freedom," loss of it tends to be losing freedom.
So.. you are against all taxes, then? Or just some taxes? Or perhaps you are against representative democracy, then?
Let me ask you something, then... if we aren't doing it ourselves to help the homeless or can't afford health care (as is a problem for many many people who unlike you don't get government subsidized healthcare... then should we simply throw up our hands because the free market isn't providing affordable health insurance?
As for that being one step towards communism, you're drawing a pretty damned arbitrary line there.... and its a line every other single fucking industrialized first world nation except ours has crossed, some for over half a century already.
New rule... if you can't name an actual freedom you are losing, you probably aren't losing an actual freedom. Not having to pay taxes is not a freedom. In fact, given your tax bracket, Obama CUT your fucking taxes, so what in fuck are you whining about??? You yourself said you only disagreed with Bush on one thing.. immigration. So, where was all this whiny, bitchy, hand wringing over your taxes being spent on things you don't want (as if you are the first to ever have that problem, you whiny fucking hypocrite) as if you don't live in a democracy when Bush was in office? Because, you see.. you've been on this forum that whole time, and you didn't once bring up this kind of shit at the time... though I'm sure you've convinced yourself that you have always believed this and always stood up for this sort of thing... though you haven't.
Unless you think that all of Europe, most of asia, much of south america, and canada are ALL socialist dictatorships, then this whole argument that "its a step towards communism" to simply provide healthcare for everyone in America, then you should check your fucking medication because you either need a refill or a much higher dose of your anti-psychotic. Its not communism; its the 21st fucking century, and its about damned time you backwards ass hillbilly fucktards joined it.
i think i love you
I don't have time to reply now, later, but to me you seem like a baby in the sense that you want your "daddy" to take care of you when you fall and get a boo-boo....You do realize "universal healthcare" brings every body down a level because the doctors aren't working to make their product the best, they're just able to do the job....as simply as that. I'll get you later.
Well, I'm not sure how you think after your repeated references to religion and your god as a father figure that you have any room to complain about others supposedly looking to have a father figure take care of them, but anyway.. to your point;
I and many others want results. We want affordable health care, which is something that the free market is not providing and is in fact not willing to provide. Thus, we need to solve the problem... and every other industrialized nation has solved it through single payer universal healthcare (which is not what we are moving to, mind you). Having been through the health care system in this country with myself, my grandparents, my friends, etc... I am more interested in results than in ideological purity.
As for doctors not doing as good a job because they supposedly won't want to improve the treatment they provide.... are you fucking insane? Doctors don't make more money now based on the quality of care they provide and Doctors do not get into the field with money as their prime motivation. The idea that people who have to go through med school and all that entails as well as interning, etc... are going to just not do a good job if they don't have some fictional profit margin hanging over their heads is absolutely fucking ludicrous.
