i would take the job, because eventually unemployment runs out and you don't know when the next job opportunity will come along. and with any job you have a chance of moving up/making more money if you work hard.

or take the time and go back to some sort of technical school and make more opportunities

If I went on unemployment, I would get super buff and ride my bike to the beach every day. I'd probably get bored after awhile, but being on unemployment sounds neat right about now, now that the weather's getting nice.

I've been unemployed since a few days before Christmas. I have not been collecting and have not been able to return for a multitude of reasons. I would definitely go back to work if you could, because after 5 1/2 months of unemployment, I can tell you the lack of steady work can wreak havoc on you mind and spirit. I've had a lot of ups and down, but I am mostly depressed. There is no coming or going of people at my new apartment, so my days are very long and I have nothing but time to think about how my friends, family, and girl are all out working hard and accomplishing things.

However, on the other side of the debate, if it's really hard finding something worthwhile, make the best out if it. I'm sure there will be plenty of days after all this is over that I will kick myself in the ass that I didn't always use this time to enjoy life as much as possible and throw my TV out a fucking window.

I was on unemployment from February until last month. The vacation was nice, but getting back to work was better. I'm only making about 200 more a month than I was on unemployment. I took a full-time minimum wage job, but it's easy as balls and I get full benefits with matched 401k and shit after a year. I also get annual performance evaluations with opportunities for wage increases. Basically, don't discount a job just because it starts at minimum wage. Use some foresight and think about a little further down the road.
