Yeah they are sweet, but really not cheap. It would be suggested you know something about what you buy before you start planning on buying it.

if you're gonna spend the money on an orange, i'd go with Matamp instead.

it is the company that makes Orange amps, but you can custom build it to your needs. for about the same price.

my roommate has a small orange practice amp, i believe 30 watts with a 10 inch speaker. not sure of the model. all i know is that i absolutely love it, if i'm just playing by myself i'll use his amp instead of mine. best sounding practice amp i have ever heard.

just get a rockerverb if u want a high-gain orange amp- the thunderverbs 200 tube powered watts just seems a little beyond excessive

uhhh if by "now" you mean since 1968. they have always been extremely popular.

at least to anyone with half a brain and knowledge of the gear they should be using.

Uhh if by now I mean since the last few years when a majority of teenagers took their focus off getting Mesas and are now geared towards getting Oranges..

Oranges have always been popular, but not nearly as much as they are in recent times. Maybe I'm just noticing it more since I've been paying more attentuion to gear, but seriously.. they're the hot shit right now.

There's no point in comparing older Oranges to newer Oranges. From what I hear, they're very different. Look to Matamp if you want an older Orange.

I'd even suggest just getting the Rockerverb 50. It'll be plenty of power.

I do plan to buy a Showman for my clean tones once I have a bit more expendable income, but still...

orange has always been popular in music outside of hardcore, that being said, if youre looking chug and wail oranges are not the amp for you.

I wasn't talking about chug chug bands, but okay.

Rockerverbs can do metal just fine.

You can make a Mesa sound great, the EQ is just picky. It's not really a "plug in and go" kinda amp if you want a specific tone.
