Hey, I just got into a band as a vocalist, and I'm pretty damn new at this so I was wondering if anyone could answer me a few questions.

1) I'm a little concerned about my screams not being properly done and I'm afraid it'll kill my voice. How do you know if you're screaming properly or not? It doesn't hurt at first but eventually after a half an hour or so of screaming it starts to hurt.

2) Would vocal training be any use for making my voice stronger and have better air control? Or is it just better to keep singing in the band and get better that way?

3) Any tips in general? I heard that if you don't drink caffeine products for 24 hours before screaming then it'll sound a lot better.
