I got pulled over in the city doing 46 in a 25 on Friday. I just called to find out when I could stop in and pay the fine and the woman says "If you plead not guilty and have a hearing and then are found guilty the officers and judge will make you pay the fine but you wont get any points on your license and your insurance wont be affected"

wtf?

That happens, but you also may have to deal with a lot of court charges.

Most of the times you fight it the cops understands lowers the amount you were speeding say instead of 20 miles over the limit it goes to 5 which also lowers your fine and lowers or gets you no points.
You may have to pay some charges but usually you walk away with a little bit more money then when you paid the fine(you have to pay within 10 days)
