I apologize, I know it's been done before, but looks like the old threads haven fallen to the archives.

What do you use?
Protein/Calories per serving (1 scoop)?
Why do you recommend it?
Pricing?

I'm looking for alternates for my current powder and it gets expensive just sampling the 12 oz. tubs. I wouldn't mind stuff that assists in recovery as well.

What do you use? - Designer Whey Chocolate

Protein/Calories per serving (1 scoop)? - 18 g/100 calories/1.5 fat

Why do you recommend it? - The best mixing and tasting that I've tried by far. The protein content is lower but so is calorie content.

Pricing? - Just over 8 bucks per 12.7 tub. Normally get 2 tubs at a time every few weeks.

IDS New Whey Protein

42g Protein
0g Fat
0g Sat Fat
2g Carb
0mg Cholesterol

If you want to cut up and build lean muscle at the same time you're stupid if you use anything else. These should cost no more than $3.00 each.

You get all that protein in a 3 ounce tube. You can easily store it in your glove box, pocket, or right up your ass.

Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard, Banana Cream. I got a 16 packet box of ON samples, and Banana was just the first one I tried that didn't taste like ass. 130 calories, 24 g protein, 4 g carbs, 1.5 g fat. And it's packed with whatever aminos.

Annnnddd Nutrabolics Isobolic. It's a whey, casein, and egg albumin blend. 110 calories, 23 g protein, 2 g carbs, 1g fat. Plus aminos, CLA, Flax, Bromelain, and other randomness. It blends better than anything else I've tried.

That's per scoop, but the recommended serving is 2 scoops.

Great plan, that way you can keep wondering why your gains aren't up to par with the guys you're checking out on the beach and continue to accuse them of using steroids. You really need to turn off your excuse machine and get with the program.

I just buy whatever whey I can get on sale, and tastes good. All protein is 4 calories per gram of protein. I also get Muscle Milk pretty regularly, but that is more of a meal replacement type supplement.

i use and recommend ON or the GNC brand

GNC Vanilla

21g Protein
2g fat (1g saturated)
70mg cholesterol
4g carbs

tastes great and is relatively cheap

ON Vanilla

24g Protein
1.5g fat (.5 saturated)
30mg cholesterol
5g carbs

this is my favorite protein both in cost and taste

I also like the BSN Syntha-6 but its a bit pricey but i'll buy it when its on sale.

I try to get all my protein from my diet but that never seems to work out the way i plan. It's even harder since i'm vegetarian. I don't want to get all my protein from soy or brown rice so i look to whey alot.

I'm not a big fan of lean meats so if I wanted 250-300 grams of protein from my diet I would be taking in probably 100 grams of fat. Whey is so easy that there isn't a reason not to take it.
