NHL just comleted their purchase of the Phoenix Coyotes, and they plan on reselling.

this rules, because they wont have a team. hopefully some rich dude in canada somewhere has enough money to buy a team. i want the fucking Quebec Nordiques or Winnipeg Jets.

ill even take some Hartford Whalers.

Saskatchewan's population is roughly a cat and a dog, I doubt there would ever be thoughts of moving an NHL team there. Winnipeg is pretty much a perfect market, god knows there is fuck all else to do in the winter there. Quebec City would also be cool, but I did love the idea of a team as close to Toronto as Hamilton. See how faithful the fans are here when there is another team within a 2 hour drive that has won more than one game in their first 14.

Your probably right about Sask. i know nothing about that area, ive just heard rumors here and there.

I heard theres like a wait list of a ton of fans waiting for another franchise in or near Toronto i guess.

I wouldn't be surpised, the market here is absolutely absurd. Even with the leafs performance of the last few years, they'll still sell out every ticket to every home game within hours of them going on sale, at twice the price of any other NHL franchise.

I paid $240 (face value) for a leafs vs flyers playoff game in 03 that was listed as "standing room, partial obstruction". Not only did I not have a seat, I had a fucking beam in front of my face.

truth, which is why I doubt the NHL will fuck around with their biggest moneymaker and stick another team in Toronto.
