if we're gonna talk about this like adults...
1. fresh face
2. player who understands and fits your offense
3. potential

I'd also like to mention Kordell Stewart was also elected to the pro-bowl. so if the Steelers held on to that guy like you guys want to hold onto McNabb we'd still have 4 rings instead of 6.

Neither a fresh face nor possible potential equals winning and success. But I will agree with the fact that he does have a pretty good understanding on how to run Reids system. But until he actually does get the go ahead and plays at least half to most of a season, we'll never know what hes capable of. We sure as hell know there's a great offense surrounding whoever stands behind center.

The fact of the matter is McNabb isnt a top 10 quarterback anymore. If you can get a 1st round pick for him, you do it. Of course you dont know what kolb can do yet, but what exactly do we have to lose by dealing away McNabb, another playoff appearance? We have seen the best the team can be with mcnabb now its time for a change.

Manning
Brees
Favre
Brady
Rothlesberger
Rodgers
Rivers
McNabb
Romo
Warner

i know for a fact i'm forgetting people.....but i say he is certainly top ten

Look at the stats. McNabb is out of the top 10 in comp pct, yards, tds, and QB rating.

Not biased. Just kind of high and mighty about the whole thing. though MMA gives a lot less room for opinion.

it just goes even further to prove my point that even your number three guy can step up if both 1 and 2 are hurt or just aren't cuttin the mustard.

according to what you've presented then, it stands to reason that the eagles would be better off with their third string quarterback than their pro bowl starter.

kordell stewart gets hurt and has an off year, gets replaced by tommy maddox who then loses the job to ben roethlisberger and this series of events leads to a superbowl.

you might as well just say the butterfly effect will lead some team to a superbowl.

i don't think anyone in this thread that thinks the Birds should move on from McNabb believes that Kolb will step right in and lead that team to the Super Bowl......but the thinking is if this kid does have the talent that the Birds organization believes he has that he might do it down the road.

trading McNabb could lead to many draft picks in the next few years that would fill a lot of holes that the Birds have on the offensive line and on Defense

I'm not saying it's a 100% done deal if someone else steps up... I'm saying shit happens and I'd like to see someone else take the spot.
