Cool but very very one dimensional in terms of tone. If your into jangley indie rock type shit they are great but I wouldn't reccomend trying to play metal or hardcore on one.

The Jaguar Special HH model mitigates this pretty well. It has a few more tone switches and dials to really tweak the sound you get, and the Seymore Duncan humbuckers definitely add a lot of the weight that the single coils or soap bars don't deliver.

You're right, that Special model does have more kick than the standard vintage style. Even if thats not the case, I usually get a guitar I like and just swap in the electronics of my choice anyhow.
