Right now it sounds like Pujols will be in red pinstripes by the end of the week. Pat Gillick is in St. Louis right now.

Werth is nearing the end of his contract and can't block. I don't think I mind him leaving.

it's just a rumor. phillies are vehemently denying it. i like pujols and all but howard and werth will combine for 60+ hr and around 200rbi this year, trade would be retarded

if the trade were rollins and howard for pujols i would totally do it, but werth is way to valuable a commodity although he will probably be out of philly soon anyway

hmm... on one hand, i wouldn't mind seeing now one of the greatest hitters of all time in the red stripes.
on the other, it would drastically change up the dynamics in the clubhouse, but with ibanez, utley, and a slew of solid hitters around we would still be phenomenal.
things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmm
tom.

I actually really like this trade.

I'd say there's less than a 10% chance of werth resigning. They're just not going to be able to pay him the kind of money he'll be asking for with the payroll the way it is. They'll have to increase their cap for sure.

With dominic brown hitting almost 400 in spring so far, maybe the phils front office wants to bring him up. Pujols will be more expensive to sign long term than howard, obviusly and deservedly so. But how can anyone not like the chance of getting the hands down, best player in baseball coming to their team. Howard is from st louis, hed be out of the division so we wouyldnt have to face him too much. He kills it in st louis' park.

This would be incredible if it happens.
