looking pretty damned good. doc is as advertised, happ = no runs in 6 innings, kendrick = no runs in 9 innings, hamels is looking not terrible. blanton hasn't looked quite so good but he is never good in the beginning of the season anyway. the relievers haven't looked so hot either but that can be worked out. altogether i am just stoked to see if the staff as a whole can do what they did in the second half of last year.

the relief will be the only thing to derail our quest for three in a row

if kendrick continues pitching how he has been and Moyer has a few more bad outings like he did yesterday then the 5th starter spot should be no question. Hamels' numbers have been a little relieving so far but it is still so early to tell across the board. i have 0 confidence in Jamie Moyer at this point and that really stretches all the way back to early last year

spring training doesn't mean shit..... they might be the greatest pitching staff of all-time, but whatever they do know is most likely irrelevant to the regular season... just saying
