could be really good for the conference. I was hoping for Notre Dame or Pittsburgh but still cool.

basically no one gives a fuck about the Big Ten so they are trying to fix that. I don't think that all of a sudden they are going to compete with the SEC as far as popularity goes but it's a good start. And wouldn't be surprised if one or two more teams join by the end of the summer. Probably someone like Syracuse or UConn.

Nebraska in the Big Ten too?

I just heard earlier today about the good possibility of Texas and Texas A&M joining the Big Ten. Same source also told me it could possibly be 5, maybe 6 teams total coming over.

texas won't join the big ten, that's not even on the table. if anything, they're headed to the pack 10, otherwise they're staying put. it all boils down to money(TV profit) so they could stay put and start their own network, or go to the pac 10 and be part of a pac 10 network that they aren't sure will be able to start right away. i'd say the dark horse option would be the SEC, but as of now they're weighing their options.

i'm gonna say pac 10.

i'd like to see the big east pick up the big 12 byproduct(kansas, kansas state, iowa state) and add memphis and houston, or SMU, to form a 12 team league to compete with the rest. i doubt that'll happen. instead, the kansas schools will probably go to the mountain west to make a 12 team league. what'll probably end up happening is the SEC will eventually raid the big east and acc, and the acc will take the the big east leftovers, leaving us with 4 huge conferences. after all of this becomes reality, or during this huge mess, the mountain west will be invited to be the 5th BCS automatic qualifying conference.

my money goes on this.

Well it does seem like a fairly slim chance for a Texas team, but they have at least considered it at some point. I'm sure they will end up wherever they feel is most beneficial for their school.

Aside from Texas, other teams rumored to have shown interest are Rutgers, Kansas. Syracuse, Notre Dame, Missouri, Uconn, and Pitt. I always felt like Notre Dame and Pitt should have been in the Big Ten either way, now its a possibility for either.

if Pitt and Notre Dame joined the Big Ten I'd sell my car for Penn State tickets.

if Pitt moved into the Big Ten, then Penn State will FINALLY have a conference rival.

no one at Michigan State cares about their final game against Penn St.
