Oof... Today was a reality check. I have a long way to go before I can be competitive again. It wasn't a bad workout at all... just, my numbers are way down from where I was at my peak. Fuck it, gotta have something to strive for, right?
Log Clean & Press: (lbs)
Empty log (100 lbs) x 1 clean, 5 presses
Empty log x 5 cleans, 5 presses
144 x 1 clean, 5 presses
144 x 5 cleans, 5 presses
144 x 1 clean, 3 push-jerks
210 x 1 clean, missed the press, made it on a second attempt
210 x 1 clean, 1 press, missed a second attempt.
230 x 1 clean, missed press, tried it three times and missed.
220 x 1 clean, missed press. Cooked.
The overheads used to be my best event, be it a log, axle, or bar, but it's going to take time for that strength to return.
Front Squat: (kg)
50 x 5
70 x 5
90 x 3
100 x 3
110 x 2
120 x 2
130 x 1
Now this, on the other hand, was decent. I was only 10 kilos off the mark where I injured myself and I probably could have done 140 kg if I wanted to. My goal is to hit my old PR by my birthday, which is December 5, and the weight will be 180 kilos.
Snatch Balance: (kg)
40 x 3
50 x 3
60 x 2
70 x 2
80 x 1
90 x miss
90 x 1
A snatch balance, for you non-O-lifters, is where you take the bar on your back like you're going to squat, but you move your hands to where your snatch grip is, and then drop into a squat snatch lockout. It's explosive and it's designed to help you keep that bar balanced overhead. Then you stand and rack the bar or drop it to your traps and rep it. The miss I had, I shouldn't have missed, it was just a little too far behind me and I lost it. Meh.
Ab Strap Pulldowns: (lbs)
120 x 20
130 x 10
140 x 10
Tricep Rope Push Downs + Overhead Extension: (lbs)
60 x 10+10
70 x 10+10
Gassed.
