how is asking questions automatically equated to victim blaming. seems like a bunch of geeks knee jerking to what the principal said. shitty, unprofessional, irresponsible journalism.

Its an editorial blog. The questions allude to her being skeptical, blaming the victims without flat out blaming them for not reporting it.

It's a shot at the parents, not the kids.

we should be looking into the conditions which lead to the abuse being allowed to go on for so long and without any intervention. i really dont think the principal of the school believes the children are at fault for what happened.

Yeah seriously. Based on the quotes in that article, blaming the kids isn't even remotely valid as a conclusion on what the principal is trying to do. This is dumb as hell.

As I reflect on the disturbing occurrences at Miramonte, I am more confused over the fact that the children did not report. How is it that the children did not believe that what the teacher was doing to them was wrong? How could being blindfolded, placed in a closet, and having cockroaches placed on them not be wrong? I believe that the teachers involved in these heinous acts preyed on the most vulnerable of the children; children of poverty, children of abuse, children with uninvolved parents, and children of undocumented parents.

Like others said, this seems like shit talking parents but it's only because she's desperately trying to divert blame from herself.

I think theres such a thing revolving around victim blaming and its such a hot button issue, noone wants to be seen as victim blaming, everyone is looking for the calloused, unconcerned and mean victim blamer, but really, who is supposed to ferret out the victimizer?

Theres such a rush to wrap a blanket around the victims and give them hot cocoa and worry about their fragile little egos, that noone can find time to teach the take home lesson that if you speak up the victimizer usually gets arrested and has to go to prison.

And I guarantee someone just read that and thought I was a victim blamer
