From YCMC to Beams and then around to Aime Leon Dore, the New Balance 990v5 is amassing quite the list of collaborators
with Canada-based HAVEN being the next to take it out for a spin. Not too dissimilar to their batch of Vans, the
silhouette dresses up in an approach largely quite modest upon first glance. The palette itself, which is arguably one
of the darkest the new balance 574 black
model has seen in
terms of its partnerships, is filled to the brim with black tones and varying shades few in number.
Mesh and suede fabrications, though, are of the same brand of high quality that the Boston stalwarts have become
synonymous with, lending to a bit of visual dimension as paneling traverses from texture to texture. Elsewhere, the
branding is kept mostly to a minimal with a small cameo of the retailer’s logo found on the insole, a subtle addition
much like their new balance 247 classic
inclusion of more reflective
threads at the toe box, laces, and all around the profile.
The shoe gets an all-black upper which mixes three unique materials. Primarily decked in a highly durable CORDURA
fabric, with pig suede lining the toe region and side panels, while a buttery Horween leather spans the heel as well as
the shoe’s interior. Furthermore, the toe, laces, side logo, and heel panel feature a highly-reflective 3M material,
giving the new balance 247 womens
shoe a utilitarian twist. This all
compliments New Balance’s ENCAP midsole in dark gray.
Canadian retailer HAVEN has collaborated with the New England sportswear brand to create a dark interpretation of the
classic 990v5 silhouette. The sneaker, noting a black and dark grey color combination is done up in suede, premium
leather and a durable CORDURA weave, for an ultra-luxe update. Eye-catching reflective detailing along the upper and
laces new balance 580 mens
transforms the shoe after dark.
