seriously the "grunge era" ruled. we had bands like the toadies, Soundgarden, the melvins ( still around ), Alice in Chains, Mudhoney, etc.
good ass songwriting
it was just another reason why the 90's were the shit

top 5 grunge bands
1. Melvins
2. toadies
3. Soundgarden
4. Temple of the dog
5. the almighty AIC

I never considered Melvins grunge...

Nirvana and Alice In Chains are by far my favorites.

temple of the dog were highly over-rated. a lot of their music was pretty boring

i'd have to put Stone Temple Pilots on that list (at least the first 2 albums)

i'm kinda surprised that Nirvana doesn't get a mention on your list, but the Toadies are number 2.

and Days of the New's first album deserves an honourable mention.

I love grunge, but Nirvana never did it for me.

Alice in Chains were probably #1 IMO.

WRONG. edit that shit. it should say:

"let's just start listing bands we wouldn't have if KORN was never formed.

1. limp bizkit"

Nirvana was a great band.

alright, i was joking. but you can't deny the "you wouldn't have ___________ if nirvana was never a band" arguement is a total bucket of horse cum.

There were a bunch of one hit wonders or a few hit wonders that were decent. Other than that, I was never that crazy about it.

I remember sitting in my friends room playing Twisted Metal and listening to In Utero. Haha, it just brings back the good times. I also posed a question to that same friend the other day, "Hey, do you think that Nirvana would still be as popular if Cobain hadn't died?" And he replied with this: "Even if he hadn't died, Nevermind would still be a great album." True.

Nirvana = So Good.
