I got an HP inkjet, best I've ever use at home. Ink doesn't dry in HP printer cause the heads are in ink cartridge.
My brother has a Lexmark and it kinda suck, before that we had a couple of Epson (these are the worst printer ever!!!). Hp are also great for picture printing even though I got a regular printer.

I have an hpphotosmart 8250, but its more then what you would need. My mom runs her business off a $25 lexmark.

If you are just printing directions, quality really doesnt mean shit, so essentially you need something that puts ink on paper with no problems.

Not just directions but not beautiful color pictures of food to sell to resturants. just there when I need it

click here for link that's the printer i have. it's a printer/scanner/photocopier. i'm positive they're under a 100 dollars. and it prints off really good pictures/everything. mines the older model. but even the newer ones aren't much more expensive.

I have an HP C3180 all-in-one type deal. Not blisteringly fast, but HP does a magnificent job of updating the drivers for all operating systems. I've used it with a mac and now am running it on Vista. No complaints.
