CNN DOES NOT CUT IT and YOU KNOW IT.

TRY THESE. THESE ARE MY MAIN NEWS SOURCES I CHECK DAILY. YOU WILL BE AMAZED AT HOW MUCH MORE INFORMED YOU WILL BE. YOU'LL NEVER LOOK AT CORPORATE MAINSTREAM NEWS THE SAME WAY AGAIN.

I GUARANTEE IT.

I actually check this one occasionally. It's nowhere near as stupid as all the other ones he listed.

But almost equally, don't watch CNN.

"Let's commentate (like a deranged person) on a fucking car chase and pretend it's News so people will watch out (ex-)news channel"

I'd recommend The Independent and DemocracyNow! if you want "leftist" news, although DN is way more "left" than The Independent, which is a mainstream newspaper.

Otherwise BBC, Reuters and AP. Also, check out EuroNews and al Jazeera if you get it on your TV.

Otherwise Fox if you want something closer to "Jerry Springer - Current Events" than news.

I don't really want leftist or rightist. I just want something neutral. But I'll check out everything. Also I never watch TV so websites are best for me.

Regularly, just the NY Times and BBC. Sporadically, Mail & Guardian, al Jazeera, The Times of India, People's Daily. For funzies, Slashdot and Fark.

the BBC News website is a thousand times better - more coverage, less bias - than anything like it:

but NPR is great for alt. media [radio], because they're basically covering the same stories [and reading and informed by the reporting] from the new york times, washington post, and BBC News.

oh, I'm not disputing that Russian and Chinese mainstream news are very likely controlled by their governments. I just listed them as a footnote at the end because sometimes it's good to analyze media from the East. I didn't mean to imply they were always trustworthy or anything. You just might get a story there that you wouldn't find other places.

BBC and al-Jazeera. But mostly I get up on current events from the Daily Show and Colbert Report, hahah. The news just frustrates me so much, especially in this country. The fact that Fox News is even somewhat taken as a serious news source means there has to be something wrong over here.
