A few friends of mine in my area have been into grafitti since we were kids. Always love looking at other people's art and designs.

Yeah - I got into graffiti in the late eighties when it was crazy in NYC, now it's all cleaned up. After being in NYC recently, I realized I wanted to try to preserve some of the time period here because it is so prolific right now in Oakland.

A lot of my friends are on that site and I didn't even realize. Sat One, Praez, Bird, Ask, Kare, Snow. Most of their work was done in the Manayunk / Roxbourgh area...cool site.

kind of amazing; you used to be able to stare at these elaborate palimpsests even on the interior of subway cars and see stuff dating back [and sometimes actually dated] to the 1960's. then dinkins and guiliani wiped it all away. i would have just covered it all in a clear glaze and called it folk art.

cool work. i especially liked this one:

kind of a beautiful use of color.

good stuff... no real burners but good work you found to take pics of. most of it is real solid. the page of characters is nice. i was always big on painting characters while my friends did their pieces... we were a team ahh the good old days

Thanks. I just keep looking around - there were about 5 or 6 walls I did not have time to take pictures of yesterday in East Oakland. I will be going back to get it all.
