This CD started out sounding like run of the mill melodic metal, then it got really good out of the blue. It seems their songs don't get interesting until about 30 seconds into them, and continue to build until they wash over you like an acid bath.

The vocals are very good and fit the music very well too. There are a few clean vocal parts but not enough to become annoying. The thing that sets these guys apart from most other melodic metal bands is their solos... most melodic bands don't have very many, and they're usually not all that great. But these guys obviously have tons of skill with the stringed axe, and show it off quite often. Their songwriting is more complex in general than most melodic metal bands as well.

I really can't think of any bands to compare them too, I would just suggest finding some of their songs online, and if you like it, buy the CD. They took me by suprise, and I think you will be pleasantly suprised as well.
