JB and KG have returned! The D have rizen again! With their newest record since Pick of Destiny. Being a long a time fan I was stoked to listen to some new tracks.

The album starts with the song talking of their "rize" from the flames like a "fenix." Talking how Pick of Destiny failed but this one will be better. Its a decent song and sounded a bit more like classic rock than they normally do. This trend actually continues throughout the album making it quite a bit different than their other two albums. Thematically it is the same with songs of fucking and random epicness.

Along with their classic rock sound throughout most of the album they do a couple Bob Dylan-esque songs that stand out quite a bit and gives this album something the others never had. The Legend of Hollywood Jack and Rage Kage being my favorite has the storyteeling style and Dylan styled vocals. Not being a Dylan fan I was quite surprised these songs were my favored tracks.

This is a Tenacious D album through. It is different enough to stand on its own as a D album but similar enough to please fans.
