Review:
Underoath used to be very, very metal. Now, they are not. I miss the metal. Don't get me wrong, in and of itself, this is a good release, very tight, emotional, and heavy, but the insane riffing and craziness that used to be so prevailent have faded to only once a song for a few seconds. The keyboards are still there... but very little black metal sounding stuff. However towards the end it gets a little more metal. With that aside, like I said, this is a very good CD. The vocalist can actually sing very well, as well as scream. And you can tell that they used to play alot of metal because the indie/emotional riffs are played very well and are quite origional sounding. One thing though: this record is too damn short. It felt about as long as one of their old songs, which usually clocked in at 7-10 minutes. This is not as epic as their old stuff. All in all, if you're an Underoath fan, get this. They might have changed a bit but they're still very good and I have a feeling this CD will do well.
