Review:
When I was first getting into hardcore, I would find most of my music like everyone else - attending shows, buying demos, flipping through distros, etc. The internet has obviously made acquiring tunes a lot easier than it was back then. Unfortunately, if you are not accustomed to looking deeper into the older catalogs of hardcore, you might miss out on the unsung heroes of the genre. Such is the case for Mouthpiece.

In high school, my buddy Jerry Mancini (guitarist for Payback) handed me a copy of Mouthpiece's 'What Was Said'. He never got that disc back. After listening to the first few tracks, I pretty was hooked. The problem is, Mouthpiece had already parted ways a few years before, and their other material was vinyl and hard to come by. Revelation decided to finally take care of that little issue with this extremely satisfying Enhanced CD discography.

I'm sure some of you are thinking, "Enhanced CD? What is this? 1998?". Well, no it isn't the nineties, but you might feel like it is again after you pop this disc into your comp and view the 13-song live set from CBGB's and the video for "Cinder".

If you're a fan of the band, this is definitely something you want to have to complete your collection. If you're not familiar with any of Mouthpiece's material, this is the perfect opportunity to pull your head out of your ass. Mouthpiece derives a lot of their influence from the groundbreaking bands that precede them such as Bold, Scream, and Judge. So if you're a fan of hardcore at all, get your hands on this record.
