Review:
So it seems that Throwdown has released a new record under the name Arise And Ruin. Or at least that's what I would have guessed had I not known any better. Unfortunately for Arise And Ruin the band doesn't even have the half-assed talent level of Throwdown to even put out a mediocre album.
When I say that you could confuse this with a new Throwdown record, I mean it. From the second-rate Slipknot riffs, the lifeless chug filled breakdowns, right down to the vocals sounding eerily similar to Dave Peters both in sound and vocal patterns; it's all a clone. Even though the band sounds strikingly similar to their Orange County counterparts they still fall short on every level.
Even if this band did have something going for them the production ruins it all. Pure audio mud is what I would label it. I really thought my car speakers blew out when I was listening to this to the point where I changed CD's just to make sure. If I was in the band I would do everything I could to get my money back from whoever recorded and produced this pile of rubbish.
There isn't much more to say about this dreadful album. If you like the post-Keith Barney Throwdown then you'll probably love this record. If you hate the Dave Peters fronted band then you'll hate this album even more. I fall into the latter and will be throwing this disc into the garbage.
Sounds Like: Imagine if HATEBREED and INTEGRITY got into a brawl with SLAYER and ENTOMBED in the middle of a show that MOTORHEAD and VENOM were playing...
Yeah, sounds absolutely nothing like that and what a shock, Victory Records put this garbage out.
