I've been vegan since sometime around last april and it wasn't as hard as I thought. My reasons were animal cruelty, the waste farming animals produces and the strain it puts on resources, and health. If you're just giving up meat I'm not sure what to tell you that will help because it wasn't too hard for me to give up. Just get used to reading labels and pick up a vegetarian/vegan cookbook (this helped a ton for me).

Since I was 4, and because I found out what it was. I found out the hard way. I saw a calf bashed in the head with a sledge hammer. The poor thing was alive still and screaming out in pain. I will never forget that day. What a horrible thing.
It was not one bit hard to become vegetarian. There is all sorts of other things to eat, we don't need meat. If I could do it at age 4, anyone can do it.
