I've stated this before, and I'll say it again. Even if it was my mom, MJ or myself in danger, I would not intentionally hurt a raper. I would try to put myself between that person and my mother or MJ, but I would not purposefully inflict harm on the person with force. I may roll a ball at their feet so they have trouble chasing us, or slam a door in the person's face, but I could not use force to inflict harm.
You claim to be open-minded, Wren, but this is a perfect example that you aren't. You are so sure that because I would only stop my own rape with wiggling, pushing and screaming, I don't have self respect. I, like many monks, many Quakers and many other humans on this planet, believe that the ultimate form of self-respect is human respect because we are all connected, and that any harm I do to another is disrespecting myself. I believe that it is just as disrespectful of myself to hurt another as it is to harm myself. Another person hurting me is their soul and karma's problem, not my own. If my rape can stop the world from experiencing that pain (bc someone else doesn't get raped, bc that dude goes to jail, bc I set some kind of example that keeps another woman from going down that dark alley) that is the greatest thing I can do because of my self respect and life respect.

I am a good friend, Wren, you have no idea because we're not friends. MJ knows this about me and still chooses to be my friend, so it's really none of your business. I'd be a bad friend if I let MJ believe I'd protect her and then when it came down to it, I didn't help her. Long before we ever get into a risky situation, however, my friends and family know where I stand ad respect it. If they don't respect it, they aren't called my "friend" or my "family". (I haven't lost anyone due to these beliefs yet.)
