I'll need input from everyone here regarding Deicide. My venue received an e-mail advertising the upcoming tour package with Deicide, Jungle Rot, and Desolation (the Desolation formed in the US in 98). We're waiting to find out what the asking price is, but in the meantime...

Do you think Deicide would draw 100-150 people at a show in Stroudsburg, PA? Would you make the drive out to Sburg from where you live to see them? And if you're in a band, if we put you on the show to play, would you sell tickets in advance of the show (keeping in mind we are not pay to play- this is just a promotional tool to help us all out so if you don't sell all your tickets, it's fine).

I'm not in charge of the booking at my venue, I fulfill other roles, but I would like to give my team some input back besides what I already know about Deicide. Thanks, I really appreciate the feedback!!

100-150? with Deicide AND Jungle Rot? Don't be surprised if the figures double, but I've never heard of that place and have no Idea about metal in PA. Rest assured, they're PRETTY popular.

i'd go if it were approx. and hour away. like the dude above me said, i don't know what the scene is like up there or even where stroudsburg is, but in columbus 100 people into deicide and/or jungle rot wouldn't be too hard to gather up. but then again, we played with rotting christ and about 30 people showed up.

I could sell 50 tickets to this show myself. I am not joking. Hit me up.

Joe I got your PM, as soon as I find out the remaining details I will make sure to recommend you guys first. And there is no metal scene in Stroudsburg otherwise, but this is really supposed to be the start of it. We keep getting crappy hard rock bands passing themselves off as metal or screamo kids who do the same. I'm gonna push the booker to do this.

we bring a good crowd. they won't be from stroudsburg, but if it'll help convince the higher-ups to start bringing in more metal, then it all helps I'd imagine. Do you know the time frame for the show? Also, I'd anticipate a fairly steep price for the package, but maybe not too bad depending on how many dates they're doing. They did a fest for a friend of mine last month and their price was astronomical, but it was a one-off show.

Deicide seem to be hit or miss. I've seem them a few times and each time the crowd size was very different. They would really be the only big drawing power on that tour. I imagine Deicide would think they're worth more than they can draw and the club runs the risk of losing money, I've heard them asking for 7k or so which is completely ridiculous.

but the closest they've probably ever played to Stroudsburg was either Philly or northnorthnorth NJ / NYC. I'd imagine plenty of NEPAers would come out. For some reason, Jungle Rot also seems to be picking up some steam again. Don't know the other dudes. Seriously though, given enough time, we could easily do 50 tickets.

Our booker called their agent and left a message, so we should know hopefully this weekend what they're asking for. The booker did tell me though if I knew any bands who wanted in and could help with selling, to let her know...soooooo, Joe, as long as this goes up, I'll def attach your band. Metal in Stroudsburg would be nice- our biggest rock show draw is always the pop punk and screamo bands, which is nice because the same kids come to every show, but I'd love to bring in people who haven't been here yet, especially the metal crowd. Gonna try and tie in metal bands regularly now with our Severed Sinema shows as well.
