I had to special order grappling shorts online for $60 because I refuse to wear shorts from Tapout/Affliction/etc. which all run $12. fuck paying 5 times as much just to not advertise being a dildo.
The sport itself is alright, it's the way they market it is whats wrong. I can go into my gym anytime and see at least a couple muscleheads with Tapout gear on. And having Godsmack music helps cater to the target demographic(males between 18-30 that are total fucking tools and spend more time on their hair and muscles than doing anything productive)
i agree, companies in the sport shouldnt be marketed, they should make all profit from word of mouth and friends of friends, all successful companies dont market. marketing toward the biggest demographic, with the biggest expendable cash flow through bands (though shitty) that are popular is equally retarded.
