just picked it up and so far so good. only played about an hour and still getting used to it. lots of random encounters so far for the short time i played like choosing to save some bitch from being murdered in an alley, watching some dude get dragged down a dirt road by guys on horseback, and random wild west shoot outs.

can't wait to try out the multiplayer.

I need a new game. I'm damn tired of MW2.

Picked this up Tuesday but haven't put a lot of time into it yet. Only an hour or so. I spent most of my time hunting, haha.

It's a cool game, but parts can be a little annoying at first. I only played about an hour or so too, so I can't really give a full opinion on it but I do like it.

looks like fun. i'm guessing the multiplayer's no big deal though...so i'll probably get it used eventually.

Just got done playing for like three hours and I've gotta say it's definitely turning out to be an awesome game. I have hardly even touched the story yet.

There is so much to do outside of just following the story; from playing horseshoes, poker, doing bounties for the sheriff or just riding out in the plains and finding trouble. A couple of times I've run into people who have needed me to save their wife or husband from a gang, and I got there too late and they had already hung them, it's pretty wild stuff.

Also, the weather effects are insane in this game. If you thought GTA4 had good weather effects, RDR does a much better job, mostly because the environment is much for vast and open so you can see the lightning stricken across the sky--it's awesome.

Really pleased with it so far. I've tried checking out the multiplayer a couple of times, but constantly get disconnected within seconds, so I've given up on that for now.

This might be the best sandbox game I've ever played. It eclipses GTA 4 by leaps and bounds. Probably the best 60 bucks I've ever spent on a game. If anyone wants to start a posse in free roam hit me up on LIVE at Healbot.

Played some more and I really like it. I also haven't done too much of the story and just free roamed a lot. You can come across all kinds of things out there haha. Found some woman crying over her dead husband while holding a bottle of booze. Lots of people getting attacked by coyotes, criminals on the loose, various robbers, and whatever else. I've done six or seven bounty hunts, but haven't been able to get any of them back alive.

Played it for about six hours today and got very little of the story line completed. I am completely sold on this game.

I'm not into games like Wren but I saw the commercial for this and I thought it looked cool. I've haven't seen a western video game before.

western games are rare but they tend to be pretty good. the original red dead revolver and GUN are both solid deals

Call of Juarez 2 is also a good western game.

I've been playing a lot of RDR, and it is still awesome. Got my system down for taking bounties alive, and I've done a ton of free roaming. I'm up pretty high on the sharpshooter, survivalist, and hunter challenges. I think I'm up to 5 on the treasure hunting. I want to do a few more story missions so I can access the rest of the map because I need new areas to finish some of the challenges. This is definitely the best sandbox game I've played. Just Cause 2 was a lot of fun, but RDR is just better overall.

been playing almost non stop and have done maybe 5 parts of the main story mission. haven't really done much as far as challenges go though.

The thunder storms are pure Godliness.

Been playing for about 5 hours worth all total- once you get the controls down the whole game just rocks.
I'm sold on it, Rockstar really delivered on this

game is fantastic, the story is imersive and the characters (for the most part) are very interesting and propel the story forward. I really wish it wasn't so linear of a story though. Also the achievments are ridiculous.

just started playing multiplayer R0CH2

thats a zero not an "O"

Been reading tons of Penny Arcade today. I want to check this game out for sure. Can't really afford it right now, though. Maybe a friend of mine will buy it first and I can mooch.

The multi-player gets ruined unless you are in a big posse, otherwise there are people constantly killing you. Playing in a private room isn't as much fun. unless you got a lot of friends to be in your posse.

There are quite a few bugs like invisible players yarg! to be fixed but is still one of the best westerns I have ever played.
