I hate it. I seriously dread it. I get all sweaty and try and make bad jokes.

When I was about 11 I had to be in a piano recital. I got up in front of everyone...sat there for a minute, then walked off.

I was going to do some kind of ceremony with the girl scouts around the same time, where I had to go up front of people...and I puked everywhere and left.

I've gotten better, but still even hate having to present/discuss stuff on conference calls and shit. Bleh.

I tend to talk fast when I do it, but working in sales helped a lot. Daily I was going in front of people I never met and giving a spiel.

i dunno, i just do it. 95% of the people attending probably don't want to listen to anything i have to say anyway and just sit there bored thinking to themselves "i don't wanna be here" and thinking of a million other ways to be spending their time. so if no one is there to judge me because they're not even paying attention, there's no reason to be nervous.

I've gotten a lot better at it. I just make sure I know all of the material I am presenting, along with sort of thinking about what questions might be asked of me afterwards. It makes it a lot easier to go through my presentation without hesitation and works better than memorizing verbatim what i'm going to say.

I received an A in my public speaking class, if that means anything.

I usually drink a fifth of liquor and the butterflies in my stomach drown.

Booze does help, but it isn't really always appropriate.

i used to get real nervous too, but now that I'm older, I just say fuck it, and go up there and try to crack a few jokes here and there

also i got really drunk before my brothers wedding speech that i had to give, and while i wasn't nervous/had nothing prepared, i don't really remember what i said and probably made a fool of myself in front of my entire family. everyone liked it though, but i was throwing up in the bathroom about an hour later

if i am confident about what im speaking about then i dont care, but if its on some random topic for work or something, i dont do anything to prepare, just hurry through it

This.

I love speaking in public. In high school I was always the person who had to read at mass even though I wasn't catholic.

It depends. I run meetings and shit on a fairly regular basis at work. If I'm prepared and know the material that will be discussed, like tofu said, then I have no problem running meetings.

I never really have to stand on a podium or on a stage or anything and do presentations, but that is a little more nerveracking. Again, as long I know the material than it's not too bad, but it's not like I'm thrilled to be doing it.

I really have no problem with it. Of course, I competed nationally in public speaking....sooo that could be why.

Im also very casual when I present things, if possible I steer clear of a podium.
