Wren I know you told me water and salads. Any other suggestions for detoxing after all the shit I've eaten the past few weeks?

Curl in a ball, pray to a god who won't hear you, shake till you forget why you stopped in the first place

I think the whole concept of detoxing is overrated, and not really understood at all in the first place. Not saying to you personally, but it's the kind of quick fix BS that people jump on instead of just implementing positive changes. Drink lots of water, keep your fiber up, eat vegetables, and you'll be good. This should be done all the time. The body generally doesn't respond to quick fixes.

A proper detox involves the liver, kidneys, and intestines.

My suggestions nearly cut out meat completely as it is harder to digest (maybe try tofu/soy during this period for your protein), get some sort of colon cleanse, milk thistle for the liver, keep the ruffage high, only water.

Getting yourself Yogi Detox Tea helps with blood cleansing and you can get Yogi Get Regular Tea to eliminate buying a colon cleanse.

Detoxing only really works if you plan on making changes to help keep yourself in better health. If you plan on going back to smoking/drinking, eating garbage on the regular, etc. right after you are done, the effects will be limited to a few days at most. Probably even less. They are good to do like twice a year or if you are gearing up to start a new diet. I normally do a week long one right before I start training camp for a fight.

I typically don't eat garbage and I don't smoke. I'm planning on just getting myself out of this nasty eating habit that I've picked up over the past month or so so I can focus on dieting again.

I'm not looking at this for a quick fix, but in order to help me get my head back in the game.

Avocados, fish and straight fiber always clean me out. I have to get colonoscopys every 6months. I do that a couple days before ontop of the stuff they give me.

decaf teas and green veggies are constantly on my daily menu to help me not bloat/feel heavy. I also drink at least four sig bottles of water a day... I like to put a peppermint teabag in there for flavor/to settle my stomach (I get nauseous after eating after 13 years of bulimia)

I also put a lot of these spices/herbs on my foods because they help cleanse:

tumeric (I put it in curry veggie soups along with cumin)
GINGER. Lots of ginger - I also slice this up and put it in tea/water
oregano
parsely
& I feel like using curry powder in my food helps too....

I eat a lot of lentils for protein which are good for detox too apparently.

your organs send all the nasty stuff on its way pretty quickly on their own, the whole detox thing is kinda overrated and misdirected. long term storage is in fat cells

quick, someone get mad because i'm a powerlifter and don't know anything about staying fit. i'd prefer my critic to be someone in worse shape than me, which shouldn't be a problem here

I totally agree with this, but eating the foods I listed in this thread and drinking a lot of clear fluid helps me feel clean and perky.

Pomegranate juice- drink several glasses of it back to back and then strap yourself to the toilet, no joke

It does, but it works, and it gets rid of a lot of toxic mess from your intestines. Also, it works really fast and effectively. A beer or two on a daily basis also does wonders for cleaning you out as well as circulatory
