2 of my closest friends are getting married in may and hubs and i are both in the wedding party. this is the dress the bride picked out for the bridesmaids (navy) and she doesn't care what color shoes we wear. my gut reaction was black, but one of my girls (also in the bridal party) says black and blue dont go together.... which is news to me. she's going to wear white. i'm going to use it as an excuse to buy new shoes regardless, but now i'm not sure what color to go with. thoughts?

taupe/beige is OUT.... there's no way i'd ever wear taupe.

i'd consider both gold and silver, but it kinda sucks that i wouldn't really have any other opportunities to wear them. it's harder to find those colors too and bridal shop shoes are usually pretty ugly and overpriced.

I think black or metallic shoes would look way better than white ones. I feell like white would make you look like a sailor.

personally, i wish she'd just pick a color and have all the girls wear the same color. matron of honor is wearing taupe

, my friend is wearing white, and i'm not sure what the other girls are wearing yet. i still think i want to go with black, but if the other girls decide on white or some shade of tan then damnit, i don't want to be the oddball.

anyone have any good suggestions for silver shoes? tryna keep it on the cheap end- already dropped $130 on the dress and i'll probably never wear silver shoes again.

Totally agree. Navy and gold look bangin' together. Any metallic strappy sandal will do, though.

these aren't bad..

i kinda like these.. but they're black and silver. the heel details are kinda cool

meh.. not huge on t-straps

not terrible but i dunno about the bling in the middle

these are a 3.5" heel.... these aren't bad but i really prefer a 4"

any metallic shade would work, really. gunmetal is a happy medium between black and silver. i would have to agree that black does not go with that particular shade of blue.

i wouldn't choose any of those shoes, i'm sorry. some are really nice, don't get me wrong - they just are not appropriate for a wedding. if you want really glitzy shoes, the heel height has to come down a ton. the higher the heel, the simpler the shoe needs to be.

white is a HUGE mistake. that is SO tacky. especially like, ugh, a matte white leather sandal.

anyway, here are some ideas that are a little fun but not over-the-top:

really pretty metallic color, a little embellishment, interesting crackle finish, but still a basic shoe

gold version of the same shoe

cute option to change into when your feet get tired but you still are in your dress

definitely more attention-getting, coordinating without being matchy-matchy, pretty detailing

all are in the $30-50 price range from payless and david's bridal. some of my most comfortable heels are from both places, so easy choice if you need cute, comfortable, and affordable options.

plus it sorts of depends on the fabric of the dress and time of year. i reread your post and saw it's in may, so i don't know if i'd do a heavier d'orsay heel. hmm.
