eh? Sounds better than what we're moving to, socialism. Not sure why "individualism" isn't that appealing in the greater hardcore community. Funny how people in the music scene fight against conformity yet, that's what we want in government.

eh? sounds like a bunch of ignorant, uneducated, white trash idiots that would have been lynching black people 50 years ago to me.

So, outside of perhaps having semi-socialized healthcare... where is your "individualism" actually being changed in any meaningful way?

More than anything the tea party seems to be a movement that doesn't take much of a view of the bigger picture and doesn't seem to understand very well how government actually works and how the economy actually works, much less where we would be without some of the "socialist" programs that create our infrastructure, etc..

high ranking gop official: shit dudes, only 12% of americans admit to being republicans and this black guy just kicked the shit out of us in front of everyone and it looks like we'll be in the minority probably forever now because for the first time in a long time, voters weren't retards. any ideas?

some dickhead campaign manager: well, sir, how about we tap into the realm of assheads who don't know a congressman from an avocado and trick them into believing that their rights are being tampered with? we already know that phrases like "taxes" "big government" and "socialism" scare retards that don't understand how anything works. why don't we use that to create a sub-party of republicans where we can stay out of the spotlight and claim that they're NOT republicans, but that they're simply disgruntled citizens of all walks of life who are fed up with "big government?"

high ranking gop official: HOLY FUCKING SHIT WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO JUST GET THIS SHIT BACK IN 4 YEARS. you deserve a promotion dickface, lets get you a few million dollars to run for a seat in senate. how many people do you know in how many different states? call up yr bros and tell them we got em on the money front. just make sure they go out in public, preferably places where stupid, worthless people hang out, and just start saying crazy stupid shit that's not based in reality. then BAM, we'll take the house back and block everything this guy tries to do to save the country, so that way, these idiots we got to follow us will just think that he's ineffective and we'll put one of yr bros into the white house in 2012. LETS GET THE BALL ROLLING BOYS!

and so the tale was written, the tale of america's demise into mike judge's idocracy

I'm not saying its not filled with a bunch of asshats or anything, its just this- I get behind a movement which is behind lower taxes and a smaller government. The opposition to the tea party doesn't seem to be adding anything to the discussion, they just seem to be opposing the tea party. Which seems a little nonsensical. Why wouldn't you just oppose corruption, higher taxes and government influence in your life? When you oppose the party that exists to oppose these things, it makes you wonder

For instance- I'm talking to some whiney leftist skin a ways back. The point of conversation was some sort of E.L.F. type of tattoo he had. Rather than yell at him and say i hate the left, which I kinda do, i'm with it. I like trees and I think we need more of them. I'm not interested in just opposing him blindly because he's on the wrong side of the fence

the tea party movement are also a bunch of socially conversative and very religious conspiracy theorists.

yeah, fuck corruption. no one likes that. but you won't find many parties claiming to defend the stuff.

not everyone wants lower taxes for everyone.

were the tea party campaigning on gay marriage to get the government out of peoples lives? or abortions? or was it cannabis laws? or stem cell research?

What the Tea Party lacks in intelligence they more than make up for with sheer willpower. They are, however, smart enough to know that the only thing their liberal counterparts are capable of is ridicule, which they have been emphasizing to great effect. They've been called racists, bigots, tea-baggers, homophobes, Islamophobes, idiots, asshats, and, best of all, radicals. But all that's just because people are afraid of them and they know it, and they will continue to feed off the left's ignorance until they win. In their own ignorance they have been successfully hijacked by Corporate America. Neither the Tea Party or their opposition has actually taken time to sit down and think. That's pretty sad America.

Tea Party Express leader Mark Williams referred to Allah as a "Monkey God". Williams' comments elicited strong rebukes from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, New York state senators and Muslim leaders. In a subsequent blog posting, Williams wrote, "I owe an apology to millions of Hindus who worship Lord Hanuman, an actual Monkey God. Hanuman is worshiped as a symbol of perseverance, strength, and devotion ... Those are hardly the traits of whatever the Hell (literally) it is that terrorists worship." When questioned by The Washington Post about his comments about Islam, Williams has claimed the controversy has "been fantastic for the movement".[285][286]

uh, see my quote above.

i'm not personally afraid of them. i feel like the only reason they've gained any success in the mainstream news is because americans are treating them like reality tv stars. they're entertaining because they're the foil to the main characters which are boring moderate politicians. only the dumbest of the dumb would actually support these imbeciles.

.

that's because they are racists, bigots, tea-baggers, homophobes, Islamophobes, idiots, asshats, and, most of all, ignorant, uneducated, assholes. they can't stand the fact that a black man was elected president of "their country" and this is the single fact that has galvanized them into a mass movement whether they are conscious of it or not. there may even be a few decent people peppered in amongst them too, but these have long since been lost in the crowd. people are afraid of them because people are instinctively afraid of all forms of lynch mobs deep down in their bones. anyone with a brain not addled by dementia or meth or stone-cold stupidity took about 3 seconds to figure that out; you can smell it on them a mile away. they are everything that is sad and malignant about america.

though it's obviously worth distinguishing between poorly considered insults and actual campaigning against and feeling threatened by equal rights for homosexuals.

If you were at a rally speaking against a group of klansmen, you wouldn't come up with some semi- witty excuse to say "nigger", and I don't see how its any different. What I think it is is groups of people who grew up when calling someone gay on the playground was an acceptable insult, they don't want to watch dudes make out, but if they get called on their own borderline homophobia need to demonstrate their love for equality. So they rally behind the right for gays to marry, they get a token gay friend, etc... just so long as mark and steve aren't over at their house party smashing bottoms in their bed.

I asked for a logical reason to oppose a party whose main platform should be something we can all get behind, and made the obersvation that most of the opposition seems to be knee jerk reactions from the youth who see this as their parent's political party. he responded "they are racists, bigots, tea-baggers, homophobes, Islamophobes, idiots, asshats, and, most of all, ignorant, uneducated, assholes."

He then went on to make a point about the closet racism that brought the party into the limelight, which, while i think he has it overstated, hes still barking up the right tree. Nonetheless, i don't see why people oppose the entire party on their entire grounds because it has a large handful of closet racists inside it.

Thing is.. most of what we are hearing from those who are pro-tea party here is incredibly vague. Do I want smaller government? Yes... but that doesn't mean I don't care about HOW you cut government. Do I want lower taxes? It would be nice, but really our taxes aren't all that terrible. I don't LIKE that I have to pay taxes on my relatively low wages, but I realize that I should do it. I would prefer lower taxes, but I don't want lower taxes for the wealthy, not because of any moral stand against them, but because the wealthy have a duty to pay taxes as well, and if I can be asked to pay a percentage that actually makes a small difference in how I live, then they can as well. Thats not unfair, it won't make them poor, and frankly I get sick and fucking tired of all these people giving reasons for not taxing the wealthiest that amount to little more than blackmail.

yeah, it happens all the time. A lot of these dudes are fucking weirdos. You're still using the term "gay" or the implications that someone is gay as an insult. Meanwhile, you're kind of trying to insinuate that the whole party is fucked up because of some anti gay activists who fuck dudes. it makes no sense.

he was responding to something else, not directly to your post. but i won't speak for him.

as pointed out, not everyone can get behind "lower taxes" as an absolute principle. many people would like the richest to pay more. the tea party movement (it's not a party) does not want the government "out of your lives" - they want to impose socially conservative and religious morals upon people.

so i don't think they have some sort of lockdown on these wonderful political ideals that everyone loves. plus, all the racism, anti-science and conspiracy theories. i don't see what anybody who isn't socially conservative, religious republican could possibly see in them really. or at very least, nothing that you cannot see in ron paul.

he might be socially conservative and religious and racist and homophobic too, but wants less government in peoples lives (at least he's against drug prohibition) and comes across as much less mental.
