How would you describe your music to a stranger?

When people ask me, I always say we’re a really angry punk band. I think that sums us up. We like to think of us ourselves as a (melodic) Hardcore band but I get that people hear a lot of different influences in our sound from metal to Hip-Hop. I think I’d be more interested to hear how people describe us!

Though to be fair, there was a guy on Reddit who said one of our songs sounds like what shit would sound like it if had a sound. So maybe I wouldn’t like to know after all. (P.S. if you’re reading this anonymous Reddit poster, we will find you. Just kidding, thank you for your feedback P.P.S I mean it though, we will find you)

How often do you wash your legs?

I would say at least once, sometimes twice if I’m training that day. However, I think I only go so far as to use soap on the top parts of my legs and never apply much soap, if any, below the knees – apart from my feet. That said, there’s some natural water flow that makes it over the entirety of my legs. So now I’m not sure if I wash them at all.

Who or what has been your biggest influence?

This is a tough question. If you mean life influence, I think it’s a combination of my father and my brother. My father for the wrong reasons as much as the right ones, my brother for being a stand-up guy – between us, I think we have shown each other the right path in life.

Also Martial Arts because doing that for years taught me perseverance.

Musically, shit I don’t know. So many..! I’ll go with John Bush from Armored Saint as I think he seems like a cool dude. Plus Wisdom in Chains if I’m talking bands – also Ruiner, Knuckledust, Comeback Kid and Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band too but this list could go on and on and probably isn’t representative of the whole band.

Would a werewolf go to a doctor or a veterinarian?

It depends on whether or not it’s a full moon. Obviously. Get with the programme Dan.

Do you listen to your own music?

Yeah man, someone has to.

Seriously though, yeah - I feel like it’s a group effort so you get into the stuff everyone else is playing and it’s cool to hear a thing you created together come to life.

Is a conjoined twin one or two things?

Hmm. Excellent question.

I think one thing, as in one entity. However, they could have very different personalities. I’m happy to be educated on this subject. Was Kuato a conjoined twin in Total Recall? I mean they shot one of them and both died so in that regard, totally one thing.

What will it take for you to feel accomplished as an artist?

In some ways, I already feel like that as I play in a band with guys who enjoy writing songs with me. It’s also been great to get so much positive feedback for our releases, people seem to say more and more good stuff every time we put something out. We’d like to get to the point where we can tour and hopefully play with some of our favourite bands. Getting more props from within the scene like that would be awesome.

Is there a difference between pissing your pants and pissing into your pants?

Yeah definitely. So you could be taking a piss and you haven’t quite adjusted your pants right when you’ve pulled them down and you’re pissing and then you realise some of the stream is spilling onto/into your pants. That’s pissing into your pants, sure it’s an accident but it’s a somewhat conscious decision. There’s no shame in this.

Pissing your pants is when it all just goes horribly wrong and despite your best efforts, you can’t hold it in. It’s involuntary. There is 100% shame in this.

Obviously I’m just relaying what people have told me, I’m no expert on this subject…

What are you most proud of?

OK related to some of my other answers, getting a black belt was a big thing but more because of what it gave me - I know what it took to get there and that has stood me in good stead for pretty much everything else I’ve done in life. It’s taught me not to give up, to make take control of my life and keep going and pushing to make sure everything I do is the best it can be. I’m proud of taking that perspective and applying it to everything from my work to the music we make and what I put into the relationships I have with my friends and family.

What is the worst possible show you can imagine playing?

A cabaret would be pretty hard going. Especially if we have to wear suspenders and shit. The make-up might actually help in all fairness but I have some very hairy legs. A cabaret to a room full of bankers on their way to a Trump Rally/Conservative Party Conference having spent the day at a straight pride/Free Tommy Robinson march. Upside down. Suspended in a tank of water with piranhas in it. Opening for Kanye West.

As a legit answer, its’s anything where the Promoter hasn’t pushed it hard enough – we always give it 100% but playing to an empty room is pretty hard work.

What’s the easiest way to keep up with the band (social media, websites, etc)?

We probably post most on Instagram – so that’s hth_hxc
