This digital EP is the prelude to Matt Skiba & The Sekrets debut album Babylon. Essentially containing one album track and two acoustic interpretations, nothing really exciting going on here. Matt Skiba has been working on many projects not named Alkaline Trio, yet this solo project would pass off as an Alkaline album. Hunter Burgan of AFI fame handles all bass duties, while Jarrod Alexander plays the drums. The relevant entry on Alexander's resume would be drumming for My Chemical Romance, but I choose to remember him as the original drummer for Death By Stereo.

Anywho, this EP is a total yawn that leaves you wondering why Skiba isn't putting his time into his main band. Its one thing to branch out into side projects that explore your other musical interests, so as to not dilute the product of your main band. But this really is just rehashed, pop punky rock music with that signature Skiba croon. Not worth your time.
