Tears on Tape is the eighth studio album by Finnish band, HIM, released April 26, 2013 in Finland, April 29, 2013 in Europe, and on April 30, 2013 in the US and Canada.

I will apologize in advanced as my familiarity from HIM comes from years of watching CKY, Viva La Bam and Bam's Unholy Union. What we have here on Tears on Tape is almost a modern rock opera with no true substance. Never once during my listen of this album did I find myself enamored in music that was created by the band, this leading to me thinking of a forced album to be released to the masses as just "another release" in hope of sales and to make their fans appeased.

As you progress through the album you hear a numerous of influences in the music on Tears on Tape. Specifically on "Into the Night" where "Sing the Sorrows" era AFI recalls of chorus/group/chorus in a powerful way.

As a new listener to HIM, I can't cosign this album as a repeat, but I'm sure that avid listeners will continue to support and listen to one of Finland's most notorious rock bands.
