Within Temptation are female fronted symphonic metal out of the Netherlands. Which basically means the band is probably huge in Europe and hardly recognized in North America.

The four songs provided by Within Temptation on this EP seem to be a look into an album in progress. Each track is labeled demo version with the exception of the title track which features Tarja (ex-Nightwish). I know this is supposed to be some sort of metal, but I don't even know how it could be classified as that. I barely hear a difference between this and modern pop music. The guitars may give it a slight edge, really slight. I feel like their fan base is made up of girls into cosplay and guys that look like Legolas, all of which are very adventurous in the bedroom.

Admittedly, I can't really say I hate anything about these songs. However, I can't really say much positive about them other than the execution sounds exceptional. The vocals sound perfect and musically everything is spot on, the problem is I can't get behind the music being played here. Like I said before these just sound like pop songs taken to another dimension and done on a larger scale. I respect it, but will never listen to it again.
