Let me start by saying that Mlny Parsonz has a killer voice. And her band sounds like the newer tame versions of Mastodon and Baroness. Which isn't a bad thing but when they try to do straight up Metal tracks I feel bored. But when they just go into a jam like atmosphere the record doesn't drag on at all, its actually enjoyable.

But some of the crunchy guitar parts seem forced and out of place. The power in Royal Thunder as Relapse must know is Miny's vocal delivery which saves this record from being on a bargain bin. I love a handful of female vocalists in Metal and sadly she isn't on my list even though her voice is beautiful and carries the bands through tracks like, "Forgot You".

But something is missing and I can't put my finger on it? Maybe this record isn't as good as I thought it would be. But then a track like "Wake Me" comes on and Im like fuck yeah! But then it just goes back into being background music with some lame attempts at experimentation. Im sure there is an audience for Royal Thunder, but its not with me. Their debut on the other hand was one kick ass record, but this just doesn't cut it.
