This is easily one of my most anticipated releases of 2015. PW have not only become one of my favorite power metal bands, but favorite bands period. They write some of the catchiest metal I've ever heard. Blessed and Possessed, the band's 6th installment to their perfect catalog, is no exception to that rule.

Longtime fans will admittedly find not much new here, but if you're a longtime fan I suspect you're perfectly fine with that. Rolling with the "if it's not broken, don't fix it" method in their music, Powerwolf have been refining their sound for some time now. In 2015, they're a well oiled werewolf machine ready to attack and do so with melodies and hooks that will be stuck in your head for days. In my case, it's been there for weeks.

The power in this band comes in the form of marrying catchy riffs and incredibly powerful vocals. Attila Dorn is easily what separates them from other bands. Having studied classical opera at the Music Academy of Bucharest is a key factor. He has a unique voice that is not high in pitch like many power metal acts. Matching that with church organs, actual organs recorded in a church, sets for a large stage. Powerwolf's mix of power metal with speed metal, traditional metal, the operatic, and even 80's hard rock ballads, is a force to be reckoned with and their music is incredibly addicting.
